Our work draws inspiration from both Japanese and Nordic bathing traditions — where the value lies not in doing more, but in doing something with intention.
Why Rituals
In a daily life often dictated by pace and availability, natural transitions disappear.
Between activity and rest.
Between day and night.
IKI Rite was created to reintroduce these spaces—through simple, recurring rituals that do not require performance, instructions, or optimization.
We believe stillness is not something you achieve.
It is something you allow.
Our approach to products
Every IKI Rite product is designed as a tool for a specific occasion.
We don't develop our range for the sake of variety, but so that each ritual has a clear place and function.
Our products are intentionally few, slow and recurring — with a focus on experience, materials and rhythm rather than on quick results.
Form and simplicity
The design within IKI Rite is intentionally understated.
We strive for an expression that doesn't demand attention, but rather allows the content to come to the fore.
Inspired by both Japanese and Nordic design traditions, we work with restrained typography, natural materials, and a visual language that is meant to age gracefully rather than follow trends.
Stillness is not an achievement
IKI Rite makes no promises of results.
We view self-care as something personal, understated, and voluntary—not as another area to be optimized.
Our rituals are an invitation, not an instruction.
IKI Rite is a work in progress.
An attempt to create space for something slower, in a time that often moves fast.
Vilka är vi?
IKI Rite är ett svenskt företag inom skönhet/wellness som grundades av mig, Jesper Smith, 2026. Jag driver det tillsammans med mina döttrar Vendela och Amanda.
Jag stötte på kategorin badte (bath tea) för lite över ett år sedan och kunde inte sluta tänka på det. Badte är sedan länge en stor produkt i Japan och Sydkorea.
Jag blev framförallt intresserad av det som är förknippat med badte. Japansk kultur och nordisk kultur, på sitt eget sätt, behandlar bad som en ritual, inte en syssla. En fast punkt i dagen där du inte gör tre saker samtidigt. Du är bara i vattnet.
Det är sällsynt just nu. De flesta av oss är kognitivt "på" från det att vi vaknar till det att vi somnar, och väldigt få produkter tvingar faktiskt fram ett stopp. En bath tea bag är medlet för att genomföra det viktiga - ritualen. Ritualen som bara handlar om just det - själva ritualen, inget annat.
Så under det senaste året, vid sidan av att ett heltidsjobb, har jag byggt IKI Rite: ett nordisk-japanskt badritual-varumärke. Första produktserien heter FUROCHA — fyra blends, var och en byggd kring ett specifikt tillstånd du vill nå snarare än en doft du råkar gilla.
